Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a relationship through which your self-awareness is raised, helping you to realise your goals, dreams, and aspirations. It’s bridging the gap from where you currently find yourself, to where you want to be.
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential“.
How does Coaching differ from therapy or counseling?
The key difference is that coaching (unlike mentoring) does not offer advice. Coaching does not seek to resolve past issues, nor deal with psychological issues. (Events in your past may be discussed within the coaching relationship if perhaps they present a current barrier or obstacle – such as the root cause of a limiting belief – or to remind you of a relevant “evidence based success“.)
Perhaps most importantly, coaching doesn’t necessarily seek to “fix” a problem – the coaching relationship is focused on your personal development, rather than “healing“. Olympic athletes, for example, have coaches to empower them to consistently perform at the peak of their abilities – both mentally and physically…
In the article “Coaching at work: It’s a compliment, not a sign that you’re in trouble”, Dawn Pons – head of North American executive development for EY (formerly Ernst & Young) – says that “being assigned to a coach isn’t remedial… It’s a compliment. Coaching is about fine-tuning the talents of people who’ve been identified as rising leaders.” The article also states that “87% of 545 employers in a study by the Human Capital Institute say they offer one-on-one coaching to “high-potentials.”
Why should I choose CS-BCoaching?
Nobody knows you better than you – you will take ownership of – and responsibility for – your own goals and actions. Having said that, I will challenge, motivate, and empower you to achieve them from your perspective – in a secure, non-judgemental environment. I will support you in revealing your limiting layers (think layers of an onion), and revealing the paradigms buried beneath. Show me what you want, and I will show you how to get it!
As your coach, I will motivate you towards your personal development and transformation. I will accompany you on your journey towards the life of your dreams. Initially, I will believe in you more than you believe in yourself – but you will soon catch up! If it’s positivity, confidence and motivation that you seek – then you need look no further!
My positive, open and honest approach delivers results:
“Colin is an inspiration to me… He helped me to put my life on track. My life was a mess and he gave me clear goals and helped me to go through, I am very thankful to him for that. I left every single session with goals, and the right mindset to go and fulfil them. He definitely is an amazing coach with a gift to empower people and help them to fulfil their dreams.” (Fernando)
“When I contacted Colin I was having serious problems in my life, my work was causing me a great deal of stress and I felt helpless in being able to tackle the situation. The transformation even at this early stage has been dramatic , I am a far more confident and decisive person , I am more aware of my surroundings and how I can control my emotions in difficult situations… I have a new enthusiasm for life and credit must go to Colin for helping that transformation to happen.” (Gareth)
“Colin encouraged me to see things with a different perspective… He was easy to be open and honest with. He was very supportive, but also challenged me when I needed challenging. Every session has left me enthused and energised. Colin has such a great positive mental attitude that rubs off on you, so you can’t help but feel positive and motivated by the end of each session.” (Kay)
Will my information be shared with anyone?
The coaching relationship is completely confidential. The content of our discussions will not be shared with anyone, unless required to do so, by law. For your peace of mind, I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Where will the sessions take place?
I personally prefer the enhanced relationship and rapport that is generated through interpersonal face-to- face interaction. I recommend my private office in Pinner? I am prepared to travel to consultations if agreed in advance.
If location does present a potential obstacle, then we can always conduct our sessions via your preference of Skype or Zoom. (As an international coach, I have had the privilege of coaching clients from the United Kingdom, Brazil, South America, The Phillipines, Romania, Serbia, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, and Germany – to name but a few…)
How quickly will I progress?
Each of my previous clients has begun to feel empowered after our first session. This is what one of my clients had to say after their breakthrough session: “I felt nervous before I talked to you, but you made me feel at ease as soon as we started chatting. I am looking forward to our further coaching sessions, as I think I will gain confidence with your positive support and energy. I feel uplifted already…”
It is important to note, however, that any progress that you will make through the coaching relationship, is dependent on you. The coaching relationship is reliant on complete commitment from both parties, but the nature is such that you are ultimately responsible for your own actions! If you are truly committed, then you will achieve the results you crave!
How much do you charge?
I offer a variety of coaching packages – each uniquely tailored to your own specific individual requirements – including my transformational programme regarding work-life balance, “The Art of Balanced Living”. As a certified consultant of The Proctor Gallagher Institute, I also facilitate Bob Proctor’s “Thinking Into Results” mentorship and coaching programme.

For any other questions regarding my coaching, please reach out to me through telephone or email – I look forward to hearing from you.
How many sessions will I require?
I offer coaching sessions in blocks of 6, 9 or 12 sessions – dependent on your individual circumstances and requirements. “The Art of Balanced Living” is an eight week programme, and “Thinking Into Results” is a six-month programme, designed to permanently upgrade your habits and paradigms.
Our initial session (following the Breakthrough Session) would typically last approximately 60 minutes. My personal experience is that fortnightly sessions generally tend to be more productive, with neuroscientific evidence suggesting that days 10-12 are key with regards to implementing and actioning meaningful change.
I work differently with everybody simply because everybody that I work with is different. You are unique and individual, and as such, the frequency of our sessions – and your customised strategy package – will be personally tailored to your individual needs and preferences.
